God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change….EXCEPT PLEASE CHANGE THEM! Also, if you could help me hold my head above water as we dive into another new season of crazy, chaos and carpool, I would be so appreciative.
Please change the fact that summer is over. O-V-E-R.
Please change the fact that my oldest baby is heading off to seventh grade and is learning all these things I don’t want him to learn. [Insert wide-eyed emoji, if you will].
Please change the fact that my beautiful, sweet and funny little girl is now turning into a whiny, sassy and slightly demanding little devil.
Please change the fact that my husband seemingly got lost on the golf course this summer and did very little home projects. So now any that were actually started, sit in disarray and will have to wait until next spring for completion. #storyofmylife
Please change the fact that my calendar is filling up quicker than I can eat a bag of skittles (and trust me, I eat those things FAST).
Please change the fact that I think I’ve already bit off more than I can chew and I’m running out of colors to code on my calendar.
Please change the fact that no matter how hard I try, I just cannot give up dairy. Cheese is life. And I need it.
Please change the fact that our house CONSTANTLY looks like a tornado blew through and strategically dropped every small object that my feet find. I just can’t.
Please change the fact that no matter how much laundry I do, it multiplies. And it’s not even mating season.
Please change the fact that I still can’t plunge a toilet properly. #goals
Please change the fact that the upcoming football season means I’ll have to hear about the fantasy leagues ALL. THE. TIME.
Please change the fact that cardio is so dang hardio. And burpees. WHY?!?!?!?!?!
These are just a few [or more] things that are preventing me from feeling confident about the new daily grind that comes with the super scheduled school-year. While I must admit that I’m looking forward to the structure and routine, my overall feelings could be more accurately described as #readynotready
I am obnoxious when it comes to organization and planning. But I’m also obnoxious when I get overwhelmed. Some of my very best becomes my very worst. So, if the big man upstairs could change just a few things, I might be able to level up to at least #readyornot. And I’m kidding about dairy. I don’t want help giving up cheese. Obnoxious would take on a whole new meaning with that one. And my family might disown me. #hangry
So let’s just start with some of those other requests, first. Amen? Amen.
To all of you that are getting your households ready for the fall season, #letsdothis
#sorrynotsorry for all the hashtags in this post.
Good luck with the new school year Ali! #funread
